Liza Lou’s beaded “Kitchen” is a very powerful statement on feminism, obsession, pop culture, and the power of a craft object when it is allowed to be “fine art”. I was totally amazed when I first saw a documentary on the making of this piece, and I really want to see some of her installations in person some day. All of her work is worth looking at.
